This psalm is called the Psalm of the Cross. It has been given this name because it describes more accurately and minutely the crucifixion of Christ than does any other portion of the Word of God.

Psalm 22 is an amazing piece of literature. The way David writes this, you’d almost think he was standing at the cross because these events never took place in David's life, but instead were written 1,000 years before Christ's birth. Praise God!
