We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We are not called to withdraw from public life into our safe and cozy Christian circles. We are called to make a difference in a world full of darkness, fear, violence, and foolishness.

We sing it almost every Sunday in church with the kids:
“This little light of mine—I’m gonna let it shine. Everywhere I go, I’m gonna let it shine.”
But I wonder how many of us really think about what we sing.
