THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL DOCTRINE THAT WE MUST HOLD FAST TO IS THAT OF THE RESURRECTION. IF THERE IS NO RESURRECTION THERE IS NO CHRISTIANITY. IT IS IN THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION THAT WE GAIN OUR PEACE AND ENCOURAGEMENT AS WE LIVE IN THIS DARK WORLD.

It’s not clear what the back-story is for this claim, but it leads to one of Paul’s best little classes in logic. Perhaps there was a Sadducee-trained Jewish Christian in Corinth. They didn’t believe in any resurrection.
