Jesus teaches us to walk while we have the light, lest darkness overtake us; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While we have the light, believe in the light, that we may become sons of light because Jesus is the Light of the World.

Not The Jesus They Wanted Series

The crowds were looking for a Christ who would "remain" and lead them into glorious earthly kingdom, but Jesus was talking about being "lifted up" and not being with them forever. The Jesus they wanted wasn't the Jesus they were getting.
