When the King of Nineveh heard the preaching of Jonah and knew that God’s judgement was impending, he got off his throne and humbled himself before God, the King of kings. God must be enthroned in our hearts too and we must allow Him to rule over our lives.

The King of Nineveh humbled himself before God because he understood that God is sovereign. There are many others in the bible who recognized God’s sovereignty and submitted to His will. Only those who recognize and acknowledge God’s sovereignty can joyfully accept His dealings in their lives.

We read in Jonah 3:9, “Who knows?
