Paul told us that thanks-giving, not complaining, is God's best will for us. We're to do it in every circumstance, not just the good ones. A thankful spirit operates by faith and focuses on God. We're to do it in the strength and grace of Christ, which is sufficient.

Quite often we want God to do new things in our lives. However, many a times God wants to raise the dead, to bring to life what is dead in our lives, and not just give us brand new things.
