God Loves Camping

The best way to get to know God is by spending some alone time with Him. We see this is true for Bible characters who went "camping" and while they were alone, God met with them.

Jacob the selfish man, whose life without God led him to desperation, reached a point where he needed the Lord. Often that is when God breaks through to a person. God spoke to Jacob through a dream. We call that dream, Jacob’s ladder.

Isaac, Son Of Abraham

Isaac seems to have lived in the shadows of his father (Abraham) and his sons (Esau and Jacob). He is mentioned less than either of these, but he stayed faithful to the God of his father, Abraham. So can we!

Introduction: Isaac does not have as much coverage in the Bible as his father, Abraham, or his sons, Esau and Jacob. Nathaniel is open-minded enough to come see Jesus for himself, and overcomes his initial skepticism. This makes him the ideal Israelite. Also, Jesus is not a ladder. Angels come "to" Jesus, not "upon" him.
