The eerie spiritual fog has rolled in over the Western church and Christian culture, it has descended on us because, “There is no fear of God before people’s eyes today.” This created the right atmosphere for fog to roll in and engulf our nation.”

Sermon 2: The Fog I have shared about being in the fog and the dangers of fog but we have compared natural fog to the eerie dense spiritual fog that has invaded the landscape of western culture and even churches in the last 50 years. The love of God overcomes fear if we choose to open our hearts to its supreme reality. The greatest source of blessing and peace we can ever know is found in trusting in his love.

A pastor shared the story of going deep-sea fishing in Florida with his brother when their boat lost all of its electronics, including the communications and GPS functions. They were out of sight of land, and since it was an overcast day there was no way for them even to tell east from west. ...read more

  • Hearing Problems

Contributed by Alison Bucklin on Jul 19, 2023
     | 1,078 views

Are we afraid to ask what Jesus has in store for us, of what our future following him might look like?

This was a very difficult sermon to prepare because this passage doesn’t really apply to you, at least not the way most preachers spin it. I can just hear the disciples arguing over who’s the greatest, can’t you? like a bunch of little boys bragging in the playground at recess, or kids ...read more

  • Are We Surrendered?

Contributed by Caleb Sowers on May 9, 2019
    based on 3 ratings

From 1908 to 2018, the Church of the Nazarene grew from 10,000 members to 2.5 million. They surrendered. They heard the call, the Great Commission given to every Christian, and they submitted. I think this is the problem that Christianity in general is facing today. Christians stopped surrendering.

The Church Manual states that “The Church of the Nazarene recognizes all believers are called to minister to all people.” I love that statement. I love it because it really sums up how the Church of the Nazarene from its earliest days really felt the burden of the Great Commission and from the ...read more
