God's (exilic) people are currently blind and deaf, which makes it hard for them to be good servants. God encourages them to change that-- to "acknowledge" and "trust" Him, and understand that God is He Who Remains.

Isaiah 43 declares that God’s people belong to Him, are not abandoned in exile, and need not fear because He is present with them. The Lord alone saves and is doing a new work that flows from His grace, not their faithfulness. For His own name’s sake, He forgives and restores them for His glory.
