Paul told us that thanks-giving, not complaining, is God's best will for us. We're to do it in every circumstance, not just the good ones. A thankful spirit operates by faith and focuses on God. We're to do it in the strength and grace of Christ, which is sufficient.

John declared that the God within us is greater than the god of this world. Paul revealed that if God was for us, who or what could possibly come against us? These two statements reveal attributes of God that complement each other, and provide comfort and assurance for believers.
