  • What’s So Amazing About Grace? Series

Contributed by Paul Barreca on Apr 12, 2013
    based on 5 ratings

This story of Judah and Tamar reminds us that God’s grace comes in spite of our sin - even through our sin. Grace overcomes the mess that we make of our lives and provides us with something that we could never provide for ourselves.

There are many passages in the Bible that are difficult to preach. Genesis 38 is right up there at the top of the list. It’s not BORING It’s not DEEP THEOLOGY It’s not IRRELEVANT Simply put, it’s TOO RACY! But the story must be told, because it’s an amazing story about GRACE. The story concerns ...read more

  • What Does The Bible Say About Homosexuality?

Contributed by Mark H. Stevens Thd on Feb 3, 2014
    based on 1 rating

Just because someone is a homosexual does not mean that we cannot love him (or her) or pray for him (her). Homosexuality is a sin and like any other sin, it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible. It needs to be laid at the cross and repented of.

The Bible, as God's word, reveals God's moral character and it shapes the morality of the Christian. The Bible has much to say about homosexuality: 1. Lev. 18:22 , "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." 2. Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a ...read more

  • Sermon # 48 - No Room For Rebellion Series

Contributed by Andrew Dixon on Feb 12, 2025
    based on 1 rating

Jonah’s heart was hard and right to the end he was not willing to accept God’s forgiveness and compassion that was extended to the people of Nineveh. Rebellion against God is sin and if there is such a sin in our lives, may we set it aside and walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit.

Today’s meditation is taken from Jonah 4:9, “But God said to him, "What right do you have to be angry about the plant?" Jonah replied, "I have every right to be angry—angry enough to die!"” (GNB) God spoke to Jonah who was annoyed and angry, and asked him if it was right on his ...read more

  • Speak, Lord

Contributed by Gordon Pike on Jan 24, 2026

When we are guilty of a lack of trust, like Elijah, we know that this sin too is forgiven. Our God loves us and quietly, gently notes our sin, assures us of His forgiveness, and then points us in the direction that we should go.

Who of us have never known an experience that we’d sooner forget; an experience of theft or maybe deception; or recounting those times when we were selfishly motivated, yielding to sin’s tempting tug and losing to its hold and persuasion.

The unknown author of the following story captures the value of a name. “After the American Civil War the managers of the infamous Louisiana Lottery approached Robert E. Lee and asked if he’d let them use his name in their scheme. They promised that if he did he would become rich. Astounded, Lee ...read more
