  • A Clean Heart In A Dirty World

Contributed by Wayne Lawson on Aug 11, 2020
    based on 1 rating

I love the 51st Psalm. It’s a very personal prayer of Confession - Self-Examination - A Cry For Forgiveness. I can really identify with the author of this Psalm. Not with what he did, but with his own sense and need for forgiveness.

TITLE: A CLEAN HEART IN A DIRTY WORLD SCRIPTURE: PSALM 51:1-12 Out of all the 150 Psalms, I believe this is one of the most heart wrenching of them all. It is a heart filled and genuine account of David’s guilty heart. There is no real need to enlarge the circumstances, the heading tells the ...read more

  • Obedience To God

Contributed by Anitha Jabastion on Aug 13, 2020
    based on 4 ratings

Sins committed with good intentions were also punished by God. Wrong actions cannot be sanctified by good intentions. If we are careful to obey the Lord, we will have the peace and joy of the Lord in our hearts and the Lord will be with us amidst all our difficulties.

2 Samuel 6:1-8 Again David gathered all the choice men of Israel, thirty thousand. And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the Name, the Lord of Hosts, who dwells between the cherubim. So they set ...read more

WHEN YOU HAVE DONE YOUR BEST "10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. • The Census Plague

Contributed by Sam Mccormick on Jun 8, 2020
     | 8,341 views

David appears to have been both directed by God and enticed by Satan to conduct a census. A census was begun, David was smitten in his conscience, and the nation was severely punished. What's our take-away from this story?

Note: I developed a simple set of homemade PowerPoint slides that I used in presenting this sermon. If you're interested in having the PowerPoint file I will send it by Email. Just send an Email message to me at sam@srmccormick.net with the word "slides" in the title and "The ...read more

Contributed by Joel Pankow on Dec 7, 2019

John threatened the Pharisees and Sadducees that God would cut them down. We are all cut down to size from time to time, and we need it.

12.8.19 Matthew 3:10 Already the ax is ready to strike the root of the trees. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. God has compared Himself to a dove, an eagle, a lion, a tower, a fortress, a counselor and a friend. Today God puts on the ...read more

  • Sow, Grow, Prosper

Contributed by Bright Adeyeye on Dec 16, 2019
    based on 2 ratings

One of the principles, given to Noah after the flood, was the principle of seedtime and harvest. Life begins by this principle. Harvest springs from the good or bad seeds we have sown.

SOW, GROW, PROSPER “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22. The first thing Noah did after the Flood, was to build an altar and make a sacrifice to the Lord. God was pleased with him and made promises to ...read more

  • Job And Elihu Series

We have many in the church who don't move forward after a loss and fail to take the path of even greater relevance that God has set out for us.

I looked at Bible characters for examples of faithful husbands and fathers. While there are many commendable men in scripture it was hard to find ones that excelled at being a husband and a father. One that comes to mind is Job who had a large family that thrived on each other’s company. He was ...read more

  • The Birth Of Ishmael Series

Contributed by Stephen Smith on Jan 19, 2020
     | 3,402 views

Having faith is not enough. The patriarchs inherited God's promises by faith and patience. This discussion of Ishmael's birth highlights the necessity of not trying to make things happen but of patiently waiting on God to fullfill his promises in our lives.

Lessons from the life of Abraham Faith and Patience: The Birth of Ishmael When we come to chapter 16 of Genesis, we find that Abram’s faith begins to waver - he begins to lose his simple, happy confidence in what God had promised him. God had said that he would have a son through whom would come ...read more

  • Jochebed, A Great Mother Series

Contributed by Glenn Pease on Mar 19, 2021
     | 10,349 views

Is motherhood all sacrifice and no reward? No, for nothing done in God’s will is without its reward. This just shows us the humor of God, for out of Pharaoh’s treasury is coming the support for the child who will one day set His people free.

Mother had worked hard with her little girl in teaching her a part for a church program. The little girl had gone over it again and again, but when she stood up in front of people her mouth went dry and her mind went blank. She did not know what to say. Her mother sat in the front and tried to ...read more

  • Lesson 32. In Physical Needs (James 5:14-15) Series

Contributed by John Lowe on Apr 3, 2021

I will attempt to show from 1 Corinthians 12:9[1] and 28[2] and Galatians 3:5[3] that gifts of healings were intended for the church in Paul’s day and our day. However, the New Testament does not talk about THE gift of healing.

Lesson Text – James 5:14-15 (NKJV) 14. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he ...read more

  • Who Cares About Cattle? Series

Contributed by Glenn Pease on Apr 9, 2021
    based on 1 rating

We have here a valuable insight into God's tenderness. Some may feel that preaching on cattle and God's concern for animals is irrelevant, and unworthy of pulpit time. If that be so, you only reveal how little you know of what God has revealed about Himself.

Henry Bergh was the founder of the American Humane Movement, which about one hundred and thirty years ago brought about the first child protective laws in this country. He drew attention to the case of Mary Ellen who was beaten, and the chained by her parents. This led to laws being passed. Very ...read more
