  • David’s 911 Call For Help! (2 Of 2)

Contributed by Dr. Odell Belger on Jan 4, 2022
     | 813 views

We want to look again at the imprecatory prayer of David in Psalm 35. Anytime a preacher preaches about an imprecatory prayer he has to be careful. He has to be careful because it would be easy to convey to people that we can use God to strike back at our enemies.

This is not what the Bible teaches. In fact, it teaches just the opposite. Look at Matthew 5:44, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” I do not know anything in a ...read more

Luke 2 teaches us that Jesus purposefully came to those who no one would choose - from a young poor couple to outcast shepherds. Learn also about his ordinary/extraordinary childhood.

Luke chapter 2 is very unique - it is the only place where we learn in detail what happened at the birth of Christ - again, evidence that Luke may have gotten the story from Mary herself. It is the only place where we see Jesus presented for circumcision at the Temple, and the only gospel that ...read more

We are to neither run wild without direction, like a man running with poor eyesight, nor are we to look back at a past we cannot change, instead we are to live our life forward.

When I was a high school kid, one of the sports I competed in was Track and Field. We had a great track team and usually won our track meets by a large margin. One of the great assets we had was in the 100 yard dash, we had the kid that was the fastest kid in the whole league. His name was Andy. As ...read more

God will deal with the evil people of this world who do not repent and turn from their evil ways. We as members of the church are not to judge but are to be shepherds of the sheep, seekers of the lost, friends of sinners, the poor and broken-hearted.
