We know that Jacob worked for Laban for 20 years in total (Genesis 31:38). Genesis 29:18 indicates that Jacob spent 7 years working for Laban to receive Rachel as his wife.

When a person receives Jesus as his personal Savior, he receives a new nature from God. The new nature doesn’t destroy the old nature that is in the person before conversion. The old nature is still alive and very real in the life of the believer.
