We are called by Jesus to offer cups of cold water to the widows, poor and fatherless of this world but how is a believer to balance this command with also being good stewards of God's resources? For instance are we called to give to the takers of this world and if so in what manner?

Thessalonica was a wonderful testimony to a rapid advance approach to ministry. Paul mentions being there three sabbaths (Acts 17:2). There were many who were won to Christ and built up in faith in this short time before the team, Paul, Silas and Timothy moved on.
