Too Young Or Too Old

There is unfortunately much ageism in the Body. When I was young, I had to point to Timothy. Now I have to point to Paul the aged in a time when 27 right out of seminary is ideal, but no one over 50 is considered.

Setting Up Idols In Bethel

First, Jeroboam built two idols and placed them in Bethel and Dan. Bethel means House of God and Dan means He judged. In the House of God, Jeroboam erected an idol—the golden calf. Jeroboam setup up a new altar to offer sacrifices before the golden calf.

Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people, “Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. Our life's pursuits ultimately define us. King David was a man after God's own heart. King Solomon ultimately pursued other things. Being in pursuit of God as your portion will lead you into the fullness of His goodness today as well as for an eternity.
