Summary: Jesus declares I Am the Door.

Therefore Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:7-10

Jesus is the “Door” = “thoo’-rah” (Greek) speaks of a vestibule or opening for entrance

*Jesus is the entrance into the Kingdom. There is no other way.

“Thief” = embezzler; one who steals by stealth (cautious and secretive action or movement); sneakiness or slyness; the root in Greek is klepto

“Robber” = plunderer; one who steals openly or aggressively

IT IS POSSIBLE TO ACCESS THE SHEEP IN AN ALTERNATIVE WAY, BUT THE ONLY WAY INTO THE KINGDOM IS THROUGH THE DOOR – JESUS CHRIST.

Salvation is found in and through Jesus Christ and maintaining our salvation is found through knowing Him and listening to His voice. His sheep know His voice.

Ephesians 2:18 tells us that we enter through Him.

1. Jesus is the GATE – the point of access.

2. The gate is for the SHEEP – the people of God.

3. Salvation is available for WHOEVER enters through Christ.

4. He that enters and is saved shall find true PASTURE – he shall not want for the good things that bring true life. Psalm 23
