[322]. A MESSAGE FROM A POEM - UNTETHERED WICKEDNESS HAS SPAWNED ITSELF

We know we live in a wicked world. We know our old fallen nature is wicked. It is just the way we are and confirmed by David – {{Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.”}} We also know that in these last days, wickedness is increasing because the points Paul lists in Romans are magnifying themselves. These are the points –

{{Romans 1:28-31 “Just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, GOD GAVE THEM OVER TO A DEPRAVED MIND to do those things which are not proper, being FILLED WITH ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, WICKEDNESS, greed, EVIL, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, INVENTORS OF EVIL, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful,”}}

This depraved mind develops from the rejection of God when in Romans 1 we are told three times God “gave them over.” That means God said, “Go your own way,” and that way is Satan’s way, the way of wickedness.

We have had wickedness since the beginning – {{Genesis 6:5 “Then the LORD saw that THE WICKEDNESS OF MAN WAS GREAT on the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,”}} AND that wickedness continues – {{Psalm 7:14 “Behold, he travails with wickedness, and he conceives mischief, and brings forth falsehood.”}}

There is the wickedness in individuals but there is wickedness in high places. Government legislation that legalises homosexuality along with the perverted marriage; the gender distortion of children; the corruption and lying of socialism (but not just that alone); aborting babies up to the day before birth and leaving then on a dish to die. This happens in Queensland, Australia and the Premier of the State goes along with it and will not allow even discussion on it in Parliament. A man like that is full of wickedness. That is straight from hell when an aborted baby just tries to gasp for air until it dies.

There is no need to wonder why the wrath of God is soon to fall on this world!!!

I must stress a warning here. It is not right to concentrate on wicked things, even trying to expose them all the time. It affects your joy and purpose. Awareness is one thing; addicted to the subject is another.

There are many angles in this poem, which cover a large range of considerations. I was going to add a short summary of each stanza but decided against that because of length. It’s no good exposing wicked people, events and philosophies and leaving it there. That would be a dismal ending, but I wrote a stanza – the last one – for the departure out of wickedness. That is the hope a Christian has, an eternal hope and security.

This poem uses a long metre of 17, and I have never used that length before. My poems range in a number of metres, especially 8; 8-7; 10; 14; plus many others.

We know what wickedness is. We know it is getting worse, but God does not leave us defenceless. Here are some serious verses that become the Christian’s defence in battling evil. We close with these and I hope you appreciate the poem and something there might help your understanding.

Put on the full armour of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armour of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with TRUTH and having put on the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of PEACE, in addition to all, taking up the shield of FAITH with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.”}}

UNTETHERED WICKEDNESS HAS SPAWNED ITSELF

Untethered wickedness has paved itself on paths that are pernicious.

It spawns itself in every way to formulate all evil vicious.

What Jeremiah the prophet said about the evil heart of man,

That it’s deceitful above all things; desperately wicked is its span -

Not one can know its true extent except God who knows each person’s heart.

Wickedness has gained its triumph day right now, but one day will depart,

When it will be abolished to the lake of fire along with Satan,

The progenitor of evil, who opposes all God’s good for man.

The forces of wickedness are the ones that battle to take control.

They are helped by Satan’s unknowing allies, unpaid, on his pay roll.

The myst’ry of iniquity increases rapidly in our days,

As its numbing cloud throughout society spreads its deluded haze.

Unconverted souls dwell in the darkness of sin and are overcome;

Believing this world’s errors and deceptions; walking its momentum.

This evil crowns itself with inglorious infamy just for now,

But comes the time when to Jesus Christ as Lord, this wickedness must bow.

For those who think things will get better, and mankind will improve itself,

Are like wasted, lifeless artefacts decaying on some museum shelf.

This world has thrown out God, and God gave it over to its sinful lust,

And now it murders the unborn, destroys marriage, chases what’s unjust.

The wicked heart of man multiplies itself to feast upon its sin,

And this we see in politics, entertainment, and this world’s doctrine.

Sin will run its race until its race is run; then God will intervene:

Great judgements will come that sweep the world of what’s unholy and obscene.

The evil that resides in human hearts is deep and of blackest night;

The ugliness of it is often disguised and is kept out of sight,

Yet in God’s view the sinful soul has nowhere he can hide his disgrace,

And nothing can any man do for himself, his own sins to erase.

Sin’s deeds are recorded and one day revealed before God’s great white throne;

The wickedness that each one has done will have to be claimed as one’s own.

Corruption, dishonesty, greed, hate and spite are aspects of life’s way,

But all have consequences, and each has a debt each person must pay.

The hotbeds of most wickedness, in political parties are found;

Among Government bureaucrats; CEOs; the rock scene – Satan’s ground;

In Universities; entertainment; the media and much more.

Even “average” people without God have evil they can not ignore.

God’s day of reckoning will come when the Tribulation hits the world;

The Man of Sin, the Antichrist, will see great wickedness is unfurled,

But God will judge the world by Jesus Christ when it is brought to account.

Is this just fatalism, or is there a way from which to dismount?

YES! There is a way to step out of wickedness and into release;

A place where wicked desires and sinfulness can always decrease.

That place is with Jesus’ forgiveness by entering into new birth,

For that is salvation - a God creation - to show how much you’re worth.

This world will be judged for its sin, but Jesus was judged for all your sins.

Repentance for your wasteful, fruitless life is where salvation begins.

Wickedness will have no claim on you, and love will be your guiding light,

For God leads in paths of righteousness, where all His ways are just and bright.
