A Race
Contributed by Dr. John Singarayar on Dec 22, 2021 (message contributor)
A Race
A race was organised between Goliath and David.
Now, when the race started, both Goliath and David started running at an equal pace but after a few seconds, David got ahead of Goliath.
Seeing David getting ahead, Goliatha increased his pace but was unable to match the David’s pace.
Suddenly, this evil though crossed Goliatha’s mind,
“If I will trip him, he will fall and I will win the race!”
And he did that same! David fell down and Goliatha took the lead.
But after a few seconds, David matched up to him, then took the lead and finally won the race!
After the race was over, Goliatha went to the elder and this conversation happened between them,
Goliatha: Sir, why did I lost to David in the race today?
The Elder: I will answer it comprehensively now.
See, both of you are equally powerful and hence the end result of the race should have been both of your crossing the finishing line together. And that was happening in the initial few seconds of the race too when both of you were racing at the same pace.
Goliatha: Yes, and then suddenly I saw David getting ahead of me. Why did that happen?
The Elder: Exactly, you saw David getting ahead itself means that you initially were focused on the finishing line but after a few seconds into the race, you got this fear that David might get ahead of you and hence you started focusing on him instead of the finishing line hence he got ahead!
Goliatha: But I made him trip and he fell down! Still, how did he managed to win?
The Elder: Yes, you made it even worse for yourself when you trip him down! Since he fell down, he became even more determined and focused to win the race than before as he was lagging behind. So, he unleashed his full power and potential to win the race!
This is the essential mind set needed to become successful.
Just focus on what you want to do and leave all the distraction behind.
You will automatically win one day.
Instead of shortening someone’s line, lengthen your line to win at life.
