Sunday's Coming
Contributed by Steve Kinnard on Apr 15, 2019 (message contributor)
HELLO, MY NAME IS PETER
It’s Thursday evening
and we were enjoying a private dinner with the JESUS. It should have been a great celebration, But Jesus kept talking about betrayal and death. WE couldn’t understand what he was getting at, then he broke the bread and told us it was his body. Then He passed the wine and said this is my blood. Everyone seemed depressed.
After dinner We went to the garden where Jesus liked to pray. It was a beautiful garden. We felt secure believing that if their master’s life were in danger He would have stayed at the upper room.
It was so dark as JESUS went to pray; we couldn’t stay awake.
Suddenly torches were everywhere, and a group of soldiers was coming, being led by Judas. I became angry and drew my sword and cut off someone’s ear. The LORD rebuked me and told me to put up the sword. The soldiers took JESUS prisoner and took him before the Sanhedrin
Fearful for my own live I ran away. After getting my nerve back I stood in the courtyard, I even denied knowing him.
IT’S NOW FRIDAY
The sentence has been passed, DEATH by crucifixion. I couldn’t stand to watch as he was ridiculed and beaten, So I ran away again. John told me all that happened at the cross, How Jesus ask GOD to forgive those that hurt Him, and how he hung his head and said it is FINISHED and died.
IT’S NOW SATURDAY
When Saturday morning came, We realized that JESUS was truly dead and all our dreams were crushed. All hope was gone, all I could remember was that I had denied Him. It was the WORST DAY OF MY LIFE.
THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SOMETHING HAPPENED:
1.THE STONE WAS ROLLED AWAY
2.THE TOMB WAS EMPTY
3. JESUS IS ALIVE
SUNDAY’S IS ON THE WAY!
