In Stephen's sermon to the Sanhedrin, we see a man of the God preaching Christ beginning from the life of Abraham through the redemptive events that led up to the building of the Temple under King Solomon. Stephen tells how rebellious the people were towards their leaders. Instead of submitting to their anointed leaders, they rebelled and murmured every chance they got. And now, with the life of Christ just ending within two months of Stephen's sermon, he points out that the same thing is happening. These Jews had the Messiah crucified because he was not the leader they wanted! Share the rich theology of Stephen's sermon with your congregation as both a warning and encouragement.
