The Upside-Down Kingdom paradigm that we see in the Gospels is the exact opposite of what we might expect or even want. Jesus explains to his disciples that if they want to be kings, they must become servants. If they want to be great, they must become the least of all. They are to serve not just those who love them, but they are to serve everyone regardless of where they are in life. This is the kind of humility that Christ displayed throughout his life, particularly in his service to his disciples as he washed their feet. Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by directing the attention of your congregation to the greatest man who ever lived--the chief servant of all mankind--Jesus Christ.
