The Ark resided at the home of Abinadab until David decided it was time to bring it to Jerusalem.
February 28, 2026 According to 1st Samuel 4, the Ark was captured by the Philistines during battle. After 7 months, it was returned to Israel. 4. The Sword Will Never Depart

As we learned last week, there were some significant consequences attached to David’s decisions regarding Bathsheba. The most far reaching of those consequences was Yahweh’s declaration that the sword would never depart from David’s house. That part of Israel’s history begins today.

Sin changes people. The David after Bathsheba was a very different man from the David before Bathsheba and that reality prolonged and intensified the judgment he, his family and the nation experienced.
