A letter from an unsaved man
My friend, I stand in judgment now,
and feel that you were the blame somehow.
On earth I walked with you day by day,
and never did you show the way.
You knew the savior in truth and glory,
but never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
you could have led safe to Him.
Though we lived together her on earth,
you never told me of the second birth.
An now I stand before an eternal hell,
because of heavens glory you did not tell.
Who do you hang with that you did not tell? Friends co-workers
family? Who could write this letter to you if they were to pass on today.
Approx. 150,000 will die today, 6,250 within the next hour and 104 have
died in the world in the last minute in the world.
Hebrews 9:27 lets us know that after death then comes judgement.
How many people will die without Christ.
How many of you speak of the truth that God has given you to
anybody? Now how many of you follow what Our heavenly father has
instructed you to do?
When I first received Christ as my savoir I did not share his message
with anyone. I was scared. I was afraid of rejection, and loss. Loss here on
earth at the time. Losing my job, or my friends. I was also scared of
persecution. I didn’t want people to call me a Jesus freak, or Religious
fanatic. A bible thumper, or what ever else they could think of. I just wanted
Jesus to guide me to a better life. Or should I say a better Life NOW. But
lets look at Matthew 5:10
Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for
theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall reproach
you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for
my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in
heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.
As stated there we are blessed. Even if we are persecuted we are
blessed if we are persecuted for righteousness. We have a great reward
coming. A reward in heaven. Persecution is a small thing compared to the
rewards you will have in heaven. As you can see I got over my fears. I am
no longer scared. I will do whatever God asks me to, to receive the rewards
he has for me.
God wants me to tell people of the greatness and glory. Spread the
word of how awesome Our God is. He wants me to tell of the teachings of
Jesus. God wants me to win souls for him. He does not want me to just sit
here and accept Jesus. The whole point is to Share. Tell of the happiness you
have. Do not his it for one second.
We are called to be fishers of men as said in Matthew 4:19
And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of
men
When I was young I heard a minister say “Occasionally a fish may
jump into the boat, but 99% of the time a fisherman is going to have to drop
his net if he expects to bring in an large haul.” I have been fishing before and
Never has one fish just jumped in my boat, But he does make a good point.
You have to drop the net to haul in the fish. Cast the line or your just sitting
in a boat. Doing nothing.
You need to plant a seed to get anything to grow. Every time
you talk to someone about Jesus you are planting a seed. Now anyone here
that has ever gardened knows not every seed will produce fruit. You still
have to plant the seed. I have a story for you today. It shows how well the
gospel is being spread in these days.
Remember the story of the Little Red Hen? Here is a church
equivalent!
Once upon a time there was a church. One day the Lord found a lost
and dying world, enslaved in sin and destined for hell.
"Who will share the gospel with those who know not the way of life
eternal?" said He.
"Not I," said the elder.
"Not I," said the deacon.
"Not I," said the Sunday School worker.
"Not I," said the choir member.
"Not I," said the member.
"Very well, then," said the Lord. "I will find someone else." And He
did!
After some time the gospel seed sprouted and grew. "Who will teach
these young in faith the way of righteousness and truth?" asked the Lord.
"Not I," said the elder. "I have other things to do."
