Summary: We as Christians have work to do,but how many actually do the work.

A letter from an unsaved man

My friend, I stand in judgment now,

and feel that you were the blame somehow.

On earth I walked with you day by day,

and never did you show the way.

You knew the savior in truth and glory,

but never did you tell the story.

My knowledge then was very dim,

you could have led safe to Him.

Though we lived together her on earth,

you never told me of the second birth.

An now I stand before an eternal hell,

because of heavens glory you did not tell.

Who do you hang with that you did not tell? Friends co-workers

family? Who could write this letter to you if they were to pass on today.

Approx. 150,000 will die today, 6,250 within the next hour and 104 have

died in the world in the last minute in the world.

Hebrews 9:27 lets us know that after death then comes judgement.

How many people will die without Christ.

How many of you speak of the truth that God has given you to

anybody? Now how many of you follow what Our heavenly father has

instructed you to do?

When I first received Christ as my savoir I did not share his message

with anyone. I was scared. I was afraid of rejection, and loss. Loss here on

earth at the time. Losing my job, or my friends. I was also scared of

persecution. I didn’t want people to call me a Jesus freak, or Religious

fanatic. A bible thumper, or what ever else they could think of. I just wanted

Jesus to guide me to a better life. Or should I say a better Life NOW. But

lets look at Matthew 5:10

Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for

theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall reproach

you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for

my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in

heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

As stated there we are blessed. Even if we are persecuted we are

blessed if we are persecuted for righteousness. We have a great reward

coming. A reward in heaven. Persecution is a small thing compared to the

rewards you will have in heaven. As you can see I got over my fears. I am

no longer scared. I will do whatever God asks me to, to receive the rewards

he has for me.

God wants me to tell people of the greatness and glory. Spread the

word of how awesome Our God is. He wants me to tell of the teachings of

Jesus. God wants me to win souls for him. He does not want me to just sit

here and accept Jesus. The whole point is to Share. Tell of the happiness you

have. Do not his it for one second.

We are called to be fishers of men as said in Matthew 4:19

And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of

men

When I was young I heard a minister say “Occasionally a fish may

jump into the boat, but 99% of the time a fisherman is going to have to drop

his net if he expects to bring in an large haul.” I have been fishing before and

Never has one fish just jumped in my boat, But he does make a good point.

You have to drop the net to haul in the fish. Cast the line or your just sitting

in a boat. Doing nothing.

You need to plant a seed to get anything to grow. Every time

you talk to someone about Jesus you are planting a seed. Now anyone here

that has ever gardened knows not every seed will produce fruit. You still

have to plant the seed. I have a story for you today. It shows how well the

gospel is being spread in these days.

Remember the story of the Little Red Hen? Here is a church

equivalent!

Once upon a time there was a church. One day the Lord found a lost

and dying world, enslaved in sin and destined for hell.

"Who will share the gospel with those who know not the way of life

eternal?" said He.

"Not I," said the elder.

"Not I," said the deacon.

"Not I," said the Sunday School worker.

"Not I," said the choir member.

"Not I," said the member.

"Very well, then," said the Lord. "I will find someone else." And He

did!

After some time the gospel seed sprouted and grew. "Who will teach

these young in faith the way of righteousness and truth?" asked the Lord.

"Not I," said the elder. "I have other things to do."

"Not I," said the deacon. "That is not my job."

"Not I," said the choir member. "I do not like the deacon."

"Not I," said the member. "Let the Sunday school worker do it."

"Very well, then," said the Lord. "I will find someone else to teach my

Word." And He did!

"Now," said the Lord, "the church has children and teenagers. Who

will shepherd and direct them in My ways?"

"Not I," said the elder. "That is not my job."

"Not I," said the deacon. "I do not like the choir member."

"Not I," said the Sunday school worker. "I have other things to do."

"Very well, then," said the Lord. "I will find another." And He did!

Again the Lord said, "The meeting house needs some work. Who will

help clean it, mend its roof, paint its walls so that it may bring honor to my

name and joy to those who gather there?"

"Not I," said the deacon. "I have other things to do."

"Not I," said the Sunday School worker. "That is not my job."

"Not I," said the member. "Let the deacon do it."

"Very well," said the Lord. "I will find someone else." And He did!

Later the Lord said, "Some of my children are in need. Who will share

what is theirs so that others may have?"

"Not I," said the elder. "Let the deacon do it."

"Not I," said the deacon. "Let the Sunday school worker do it."

"Not I," said the Sunday school worker. "Let the choir member do it."

"Not I," said the choir member. "Let the member do it."

"Not I," said the member. "Let the elder do it."

"Very well, then," said the Lord. "I will find someone else." And He

did!

Eventually, after the gospel was preached, the weak taught, the young

guided, the meeting house repaired, and those in need helped, the Lord said,

"Who will share in the joys of Christian service? Who will come taste the

blessings of faithfulness? Who will know the fruit of spiritual growth?"

"I will!" said the elder.

"I will!" said the deacon.

"I will!" said the Sunday school worker.

"I will!" said the choir member.

"I will!" said the member.

"No, you will not," replied the Lord. "My rewards will go to those

who do My will, not their own."

I hope some of you at least has taken that story to heart. "My rewards

will go to those who do My will, not their own." That is so true. As I

mentioned earlier I am looking forward to those rewards, and I’ll take all the

persecution this world can throw at me. I don’t care anymore if you call me

names, I am not afraid of anything man can do to me. God is the one who I

do not want to upset. I can handle earth for the short time we are here. Its

better that then an eternity in HELL. I want everyone to pray tonight. Pray

long and hard. Ask God to take the fears away. Ask him to give you strength

to spread his word boldly. And everyone cast that line this week. Plant the

seed to just 1 person that is my challenge for everyone. Try it with just 1

person and see how great you feel that you have done righteous.
