In 1999, Hurricane Floyd appeared on the radar screen as it approached the shores of Florida. Governor Jeb Bush described it as a “Monster of a storm”, that was coming in their direction, and they really did not know how to deal with it.
One of the things that made this such a dreadful storm was that it had strong winds, and it was over three hundred miles wide.
