There are a lot of nice things about Christianity, but they mean nothing if the good news of Jesus Christ is not true. The Christian life begins by finding out for yourself that the gospel is true.

Don't be surprised if life feels like a battle some days, or even a lot of days. We have a powerful enemy in the devil and his tricks can be dangerous.
This morning we begin a new part of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. You could call it the grand climax. I love Ephesians because of the picture that it gives of the church. Our modern culture is desperate to feel good about itself. But God has provided a true way to feel good about ourselves, to feel good because we are doing good, and to find God's forgiveness when our own efforts fall short.
We are continuing to look at what the Apostle Paul called the whole armor of God. In his letter to the Ephesian Church, chapter 6, he talked about our world as a battle field. Merely sort of agreeing with Christian ideas won't carry you far when life gets difficult. The real strength comes when we are solidly connected with our God through a deep and living faith inour hearts.
