An intercessor is therefore one who takes the place of another before God, doing spiritual warfare for someone else. We must work with the Holy Spirit for this to be done. (Romans 8:26) Intercession is not praying for yourselves.

In Isaiah 59:16, God looked, but couldn’t find any intercessors for the people. Nobody stood in the gap for them. He was ready to hear and answer prayers according to His Word (Jer. 33:3), but no prayers were being offered.
