We went with the theme this Sunday of a homecoming dinner. So I decided to take a break from our study on our spiritual armor and speak today about coming home. There is something within God’s creatures that drives them to go back to a place they call home. We see it in salmon, which spend ...read more

Good morning, church family. Today we'll be diving into a topic that's at the core of our Christian walk - honoring God above all else. We use a lot of mirrors to examine and determine the kind of person we are, but the only true mirror is God’s Word. Every other mirror will leave us with a warped view of ourselves. We must be transformed into the image of Christ.

Reflections By Pastor Jim May (This sermon was presented using projected pictures of people standing in front of different carnival mirrors that distorted their true appearance) How we see ourselves will always determine how far we go in life, and how far we go with God. If we are going to be ...read more

A reflection is to give back an image or likeness. When ‘one’ turns to the Lord the veil that kept the light of God from shinning (as with Moses) is uncovered or taken away and now every believer has the very light sent from God!

Reflection Text: II Corinthians 3: 7-11,16-18 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory ...read more

Jesus' cleansing of the temple graphically proclaims that the temple was no only needed. Jesus is the the temple and with the Holy Spirit in us, we become a temple. God is among his people, bringing in his kingdom.

John 2:13-22 “Reflection” INTRODUCTION I have always found the scene of Jesus cleansing the temple puzzling, if not troubling. It seems so out of character for Jesus. Certainly, he has shown anger before at the hardheartedness and judgmentalism of some people, but he has never ...read more

We can have a tendency to focus a lot on our image. Whether it's how we look, how we come across or how we're perceived. And to some degree we should it seriously but we can focus too much on our physical image and not enough on our spiritual image.

REFLECTIONS We can have a tendency to focus a lot on our image. Whether it's how we look, how we come across or how we're perceived by others, our image is something we take seriously. And in part, that's a good thing. We should be concerned with how we come across and that people ...read more

We cannot master the word of God, it must master us. It provides a mirror to help us see ourselves more accurately and act accordingly.

    1. In his book, Glorious Finish, Daniel Henderson challenges us to imagine a world without mirrors, reflections, or pictures. There is no way to see how we look to others. Is our hair messy? Are we in need of make-up? Does our beard need trimming? Do these pants make me look fat? a. When Jewish ...read more
