Our God is all powerful and can do anything but He chooses to work through men. Every protective barrier has failed; Kings, prophets, priest, governors, pastors and judges are fearfull, yet God is searching for an intercesor to stand in the gap and make up the hedge.

In 2 Samuel 5-7 David stands on God’s promise to him. It is God’s covenant to David. The promise is that his decedents will reign on the throne of Israel forever. Yet this promise goes beyond David and his family and the King of Israel. It is the promise of the coming Messiah.

The pharisees and Scribes used this woman as a pond in their scheme. In this one move, they could condemn the woman, turn the crowd against her and turn them away from the influence of Jesus. One slip of the tongue would be the end of Jesus. Yet Jesus offered a new beginning to all!

The lesson today is one of that was avoided by the early Church and was even left out of some early manuscripts. This is Jesus second discourse in the temple. Only a day or so before this event, many had marveled at his doctrine. The jealous Jewish leaders accused him of having a devil. Jesus ...read more

We see here an example of how God can use evil to bring forth good. Jonah disobeyed and did the opposite of God's will, and yet there was no loss, for by his act of evil he was led providentially to bring the knowledge of the true God to these men.
