Even though the Magi or "wise men" have had a Christmas carol or two (or more) written about them, they're only mentioned in one paragraph of Matthew's Gospel. They came from a far distance, worshiped the Christ Child, and then went back home, never to be heard from again.

In the OT there were many prophecies that were written down and these prophecies are like promises. They both tell us that something is going to take place. Over 300 prophecies were given to us in the OT concerning the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
