While Jonah the prophet of God thought of no one but himself, the mariners who were unbelievers were so concerned about him. The church needs to be filled with those who have compassion for the lost, who depend on entirely on the Lord and lead many into His Kingdom.

There are so many people who are lonely because of various reasons. Jesus the Son of God, experienced loneliness and desertion too. Jesus died in our place to reconcile us back to God and has promised those who trust in Him that He will be with us from now to eternity, so we never need be alone.

So many relationships are broken or splintered because of un-forgiveness. God’s mandate for His children is that we should love and forgive others the way He loves and forgives us. This love and forgiveness was perfectly exemplified by Jesus throughout His life and even at the point of death.

We remember and honor those from the revolutionary war until today who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy in this country. Let us not forget about another who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms of all who will come to Him.
