Having grown up in hte desert, I know how harsh the place is and how tempting the options presented by hte devil really are. On the surface the temptations seem harmless and perhaps even good in the right hands but they all take our attention off God.

I grew up going to the desert, and thought that I knew what the desert lands are all about. I’ve been camping many times in the Anza Berrego wilderness and understand that the desert is a harsh and foreboding place. I know to stay on the trails, look for snakes and take lots of extra water. Learning the strategy and intentions behind Satan’s temptations placed on Jesus.

IT HAS HUMOROUSLY BEEN SAID THAT, "IT’S EASIER TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS THAN IT IS TO ASK FOR PERMISSION." WHEN IT COMES TO THE CHRISTIAN LIFE THIS IS DANGEROUS. DANGEROUS, BECAUSE IT IMPLIES THAT ONE WOULD RATHER GO ON JUSTIFYING LIVING WRONG THAN FACE THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF ADJUSTING THEIR LIVES ...read more

We can resist temptation by refusing to take short cuts

I am told that one of the hottest shows on Television these days is called "Temptation Island." It is a ’reality’ show like "Survivor". Four unmarried couples, who are in long-term relationships, are taken to a Caribbean island for two weeks to test and explore the strength of their commitment. ...read more

How do you respond to Jesus’ offer of salvation?

Last week we saw Jesus give us his mission. Character revelation on our battlefields

Joshua Chamberlain was a young scholar, a professor of rhetoric at elite Bowdoin College in the middle of the eighteen hundreds.
