The Prophets And Jesus Christ

Over the past few weeks we have looked at pictures of Jesus in the Pentateuch, the Historical books, and the Writings. Today we look at how Jesus is presented in the Prophetical books.

God: Past, Present, And Future

The Historical books have traditionally been included in the prophetical books because they tell the story of the lessor prophets (i.e. the non-writing prophets). They too point us toward Christ.

Not Like Any Store I Know

For the last three weeks we have compared the church to a store - a store getting ready for Christmas. But the church is not a store - it is a unique institution designed by God to share His grace with a broken world.

(Ill.) I tend to be a tosser – when something doesn’t work, I will toss it out, I will buy a replacement. So when the lawn mower stops working, I take it out to the garbage and go buy a new one. But we have a neighbor who is wonderfully skilled in repairing things. So he will come out and grab ...read more
