When you hear the word “contend,” what comes to mind? An ugly fight? A heated argument? These are negative connotations, but contending can also be a very good thing, and that’s exactly what we see in the book of Jude.

According to verse 3, Jude’s purpose for writing this letter was to encourage these Christians to contend for the faith. But what does that mean? Why should we contend, is it really necessary? And how do we do that? ANALYSIS OF VERSE 3 Diligence (Gr. spoude)—to interest one’s self most earnestly ...read more

Notice these words, “And of some have compassion MAKING A DIFFERENCE…”

Illus: God let Methuselah live on this earth for 969 years, and the only thing ...read more

Contributed by Duane F. Giles on Jan 13, 2019
     | 2,401 views

Who wrote it? For whom was it written? For what purpose was it written? If it’s to the Hebrews then was it originally written in Hebrew?

Who it was The Epistle to the Hebrews written to? -The Greek copies had “to the Hebrews” written above the beginning, and many believe this was written for those born as physical Israelites. In James’ Epistle, he wrote “to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad,” as brethren; and Peter ...read more
