THE “UP’S” AND “DOWN’S” OF LIVING FOR GOD

2/11/2010

Intro.

Too many “up’s” and “down’s” in the church.

Too many roller coaster ride Christians!

In the medical field they have a name for that! And they realize the danger of it so they treat it with medicine because this inconsistency has the potential of dropping too low. You can get too far down.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The “up” is building up yourself spiritually!

Jude 1:20

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (KJV)

II Th 3:3

3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

(KJV)

Stablish:

4741 sterizo (stay-rid'-zo);

from a presumed derivative of 2476 (like 4731); to set fast, i.e. (literally) to turn resolutely in a certain direction, or (figuratively) to confirm:

KJV-- fix, (e-) stablish, stedfastly set, strengthen.

4741 sterizo-

1) to make stable, to place firmly, to set fast, to fix

2) to strengthen, to make firm

3) to render constant, to confirm (one's mind)

Keep:

5442 phulasso-

c) to guard a person (or thing) that he may remain safe

1) lest he suffer violence, be despoiled, etc., to protect

2) to protect one from a person or something

3) to keep from being snatched away, to preserve safe and unimpaired

4) to guard from being lost or perishing

5) to guard oneself from a thing

d) to guard, that is, to care for, take care not to violate, to observe

a) to avoid, to shun, to flee from

b) to guard for oneself (that is, for one's safety's sake) so as not to violate, that is, to keep, observe (the precepts of the Mosaic law)

Jude 1:24

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

(KJV)

And the “down” is Satan’s kingdom being pulled down!

Ps 137:7

7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof. (KJV)

6168 `arah-

to be bare, to leave destitute, to discover, to empty, to raze, to pour out

a) (Piel)

1) to bare, to lay bare

2) to lay bare by emptying, to empty

3) to pour out

Dictionary.com

To scrape or shave off.

Archaic To erase.

I was born to raze hell!

2 Cor 10:3-5

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

(KJV)

The ONLY “up’s” ought to be us building up the spiritual man, and the ONLY “down’s” ought to be Satan’s kingdom coming down!

We should be carring the burden of the Lord!

Matt 11:30

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (KJV)

This heaviness should not be it is the heaviness of sin, oppression, temptation, anxiousness, pressure, fear

When we are burdened down with heaviness we cannot stand on the promises of God!We need to be claiming stuff and standing on the prom
