This sermon explores principles that can help us get "unstuck" in life from a little book by Travis L. Thomas titled "3 Words for Getting Unstuck: Live Yes, And!" alongside the text of Hebrews 10:1-18.

Unstuck By Grace I. INTRODUCTION: Today is my birthday! I am 43 years old. I am a Gen-Xer. We were born at a transitional moment in history where technology began to boom just as we were born. In the home I grew up, at first we had a rotary phone. Then a pulse phone. We had a stereo system that ...read more

This sermon is more of a teaching that can be adapted for evangelistic purposes. It deals in a practical way in the understanding of Law and Grace, and compares their characteristics.

Law and Grace John 1:16 "And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace". The word "fulness" is still another term in this important passage which brings out the absolute Deity of the Savior. It is the same word which is found in Colossians 1:19 and 2:9—"For ...read more

  • Embracing Grace

Contributed by Isaac Butterworth on Apr 2, 2022
     | 3,260 views

The vast majority of people do not "accept" Christ (Luke 4:24) but refuse the "favor" (grace) He offers (v. 19). God has sent Christ to offer His grace. We must embrace the grace offered in Christ. Luke shows us how.

There’s a key word in this passage that I would like to point out. It is not obvious in the English, so it’s a bit tricky. But the word ‘favor’ in verse 19 and the word ‘acceptable’ in verse 24 render the same Greek word, which is dektos. In fact, in the King James Version it is translated ...read more

Often, we, like the Corinthian believers, fail to remember the abundant grace which has been given to us through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We look more like the culture around us than the nature of Christ within us.

Who is Jesus? The debate begins with a discussion of Jesus’ whole person. Practically every major religion teaches that Jesus was a prophet, a rabbi, or a godly man. However, the Bible tells us that Jesus was beyond a visionary, a good teacher, or a religious man. He is the Son of God.

God calls us to live a life of purpose and peace by being set apart to be used by Him in this life as we progress toward Christ-likeness.

God's grace can sustain us in the midst of our pain.

We live in a painful world. Turn on the news and you’ll hear a long list of stomach churning and tear jerking events, such as the evil we saw on display recently with the Las Vegas shooting. "People are born for trouble as readily as sparks fly up from a fire." - Job 5:7 (NLT) Job says as surely ...read more
