  • What Does It Mean That God Has Given Us An "inheritance"?

Contributed by Jim Butcher on Jan 29, 2025
     | 553 views

It's an odd phrase: we have been given an "inheritance" in Christ? What does that mean? It's not like God is going to die! The phrase doesn't actually point us toward death but toward the Exodus. What can we learn from that reference?

WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES THAT MEAN? What does Paul mean when he speaks of us having an “inheritance” in the Lord? - Ephesians 1:14; Colossians 1:12; Colossians 3:24. - This is a phrase that has bothered me for a long time and I didn’t really have a great answer to it. There are a few places in his ...read more

  • What The World Needs Now Series

Contributed by James Wallace on Mar 31, 2021
     | 4,035 views

What the World Needs Now "is love, sweet, love." But what does that kind of love look like, especially in the context of the great sin? Jesus provides us with a powerful lesson about the kind of love we need to receive and offer to others.

Most of us here are familiar with that hit song written by Burt Bacharach, “What the World Needs Now.” And of course, as bad as I am with notes, I’m even worse with lyrics, but in this case, I do remember the next few words—“Is love, sweet, love.” And admittedly, the song strikes a chord with ...read more

  • Christmas Freedom Series

Contributed by Jim Drake on Dec 20, 2008
    based on 4 ratings

By God’s grace Christmas came to set you free from sin. Christmas came to set you free from the penalty of sin, from the power of sin, and from the presence of sin.

We should have a pretty good idea of what happened on that first Christmas morning. We know that Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit. We know that Jesus was born of a virgin, in a stable in Bethlehem. We’ve heard and read Matthew 1 and Luke 2 enough to know what happened that night. We know what ...read more

What does it mean to be made in God's image?

We are continuing our study on what we believe and why and today we are back in Genesis looking at the creation of mankind, starting with Adam and Eve. I heard that Adam was sitting in the Garden of Eden, talking to God one day and he said, "God, you've given me life, the purpose of naming ...read more

This is a ridiculous story about forgiveness, ridiculus but true, ridiculous but filled with grace.

  • Jericho To Jerusalem

Contributed by Brian Williams on May 2, 2025
     | 638 views

We all are sinners in need of God’s mercy. Jesus is the only way to salvation. By God’s grace we are embracing His transformational work of salvation in our lives, and God is breaking down obstacles that keep us and others from coming to Him.

Today we will be looking at Luke chapter 19, to see what Jesus was focused on in the last weeks of His life on earth. We know Jesus was in Jericho enroute to Jerusalem. Back in Luke 9:51, we read, “When the days drew near for [Jesus] to be taken up, He set his face to go to Jerusalem.” On the ...read more

Christmas Music 1: Mary’s Song Luke 1:46-55 December 9, 2018 What is it like to be a part of God’s over-arching plan? To be used for supernatural purposes? God graciously calls us to return, lay down our burdens and idols, and receive renewed identity, mercy, and blessing through His faithful love.

Some of God’s kindest invitations arrive in a single word: Return. When life feels scattered and the heart feels thin, the Father whispers, “Come back to the place where you first heard My voice.” Maybe you know that tug. Maybe the calendar is packed, the nights are long, and your soul has been ...read more
