We know that Jacob worked for Laban for 20 years in total (Genesis 31:38). Genesis 29:18 indicates that Jacob spent 7 years working for Laban to receive Rachel as his wife.

Come And See Jesus (John 1:43-51) Series

Nathaniel is open-minded enough to come see Jesus for himself, and overcomes his initial skepticism. This makes him the ideal Israelite. Also, Jesus is not a ladder. Angels come "to" Jesus, not "upon" him.

Jacob made a vow that if God would bring him back home safely, that the stone which he set up as a pillar, and its place would be called God's house. By setting up this stone Jacob erected a monument to memorialize this significant event in his life.
