One thing the church lacks is more people of character and integrity. Character and integrity are used synonymously, but there is a difference between the two. Character develops through individual situations, integrity finalizes codified virtues learned.

  • Listen And Obey

Contributed by Craig Condon on Aug 8, 2015
     | 5,312 views

We become different people when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. We celebrate and share with humanity’s children. We have been set free and we enjoy the special favour of God. God’s Word shines a light into our darkness and continues to set us free.

There is a common thread in the readings we heard from Nehemiah 8:1-10 and Luke 4:14-21 this morning, and it is freedom from slavery. In the case of the reading from Nehemiah, the story takes place after the Israelites have returned from captivity in Babylon. In Luke’s Gospel, Jesus mentions ...read more

  • The Triumphant Entry Series

Contributed by Brad Beaman on Aug 25, 2023
     | 2,970 views

The Roman authorities paid little attention to Jesus riding in on a donkey, but in the scheme of all eternity it was the most significant event.

This passage that we know as Jesus triumphant entry is also well known to all Christians because it is the focus of Palm Sunday the week before Easter. It is an annual tradition of the church to make this an emphasis at the beginning of holy week. Almost every Sunday School child has carried a palm ...read more

Contributed by Kiruba Stephen on Feb 25, 2022
     | 1,163 views

Imagine, if the Lord’s condition for coming down and dying for our souls and doing anything for us was based on whether we’ll be thankful or not.

Imagine, those ten that were healed of leprosy. If the Lord would have stopped, having the foreknowledge that only one would come back and nine would not give him thanks, He had the choice to say, “I won’t do this for them.” But did the Lord do that? No! He did not. He loved freely. Freely we have ...read more

  • Embracing Grace

Contributed by Isaac Butterworth on Apr 2, 2022
     | 3,198 views

The vast majority of people do not "accept" Christ (Luke 4:24) but refuse the "favor" (grace) He offers (v. 19). God has sent Christ to offer His grace. We must embrace the grace offered in Christ. Luke shows us how.

There’s a key word in this passage that I would like to point out. It is not obvious in the English, so it’s a bit tricky. But the word ‘favor’ in verse 19 and the word ‘acceptable’ in verse 24 render the same Greek word, which is dektos. In fact, in the King James Version it is translated ...read more

Jesus' sermon in his hometown synagogue might not have gone as you would expect. But Jesus shows us that his Word is sometimes welcomed, other times rejected, but ALWAYS powerful.

Expectations. “Do you really think that we’re going to get all that snow that they say we’re supposed to get?” “Have you heard about the frigid temperatures that are predicted?” “Do you think that they’ll cancel school?” The expectations, the anticipation and the excitement was hard to escape. ...read more

Come let us rebuild the altar of a holy God. Often prayer can seem like an obligation and a chore. Prayers do not have to be long, one Preacher prayed 63 words and had a victory.
