Though Joseph's brothers intended to harm him, God intended to work through their actions for good. Ultimately this truth allowed Joseph to forgive his brothers. Forgiveness may sometimes be a decision we have to make but we can do so trusting that God will work good through it.

Detours come during Development, Disasters, Accidents, Protocol, Apprehension (Sifting, Dragnet), etc. God rarely takes us to our destiny in straight lines - He normally has some development that requires detours. Abraham's detour was 25 years, Jacob's was about 20 years, etc. And yours?

Joseph, son of Jacob and Rachel, lived in the land of Canaan with ten half-brothers, one full brother, and at least one half-sister. He was Rachel's firstborn and Jacob's eleventh son. Of all the sons, Joseph was preferred by his father, who gave him a "long coat of many colors."
