None in this world can pat you on your back and cheer you, coax you, urge you, push you, embolden you, support you and stir you like the way our Heavenly dad does!

Pep talk! Genesis 20:7”Now return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all who belong to you will die." “I have told them (Army men), don’t get killed, you kill the enemy so ...read more

  • The Honour Of Second Place

Contributed by Geoffrey Foot on Jan 17, 2017
     | 4,888 views

In life there are those who seem to be born leaders but leaders need the essential support of others and appear to take 2nd place. The disciple of Jesus, Andrew shows us very clearly that there is Honour in taking Second Place.

I’m sure in the past you have either applied for a job or some position and you attended an interview panel or selection board. Well picture the disciples before such an examining board which was appointed to choose Jesus' closest associates. Peter stood there smelling of fish -- uncouth, ...read more

This sermon supports the understanding of humility, which used properly is one of the best weapons in a Christian’s arsenal; and that is by traveling a second mile on a difficult, lonely road; a road Jesus traveled, a road that he want us to travel.

This sermon was delivered at Holy Trinity, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland on Sunday the 19th February 2017; Holy Trinity is a Scottish Episcopal Church in the Dioceses of Glasgow and Dumfries. The readings for today are from: Leviticus 19:1-2,9-18 1 Corinthians 3:10-11,16-23 Matthew 5:38-48 Psalm ...read more

In support of the Angel who brought the message of salvation to the shepherds a host of angels sing about the true peace we can because the favour of God is towards us. Give Glory to God, you can have peace.

Message Luke 2:14 The Angels' Song What happens when you are visited by an angel? Let’s read some verses. There was a visit to Zechariah when he was in the temple. I know it is a popular myth that the Christian is supposed to experience only the good ones of love, joy, and peace, but unfortunately the Word of God will not support this myth. God's people in the Bible felt every feeling there is to be felt.

Three Frenchmen have come to the rescue of fathers who have no pleasure in trying to discover if their baby needs a diaper change. They have invented a little electronic device that fits right into the infant's diaper. As soon as there is any contact with moisture it breaks out with a bubbly ...read more

  • God’s Brooks

Contributed by Samuel M on Apr 26, 2025

God sends Elijah to Cherith Brook, a spring of water that dried up after sometime. It supported Elijah for a season, after that it dried up. God’s brooks, or provisions are not continuous or lifelong springs but rather seasonal streams.

Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” 1 Kings 17:2-4 And it happened after a while ...read more

In her book God Uses Cracked Pots, Patsy Clairmont describes the day she sent her 7-year old son, Jason, to school. A little while later there was a knock on the door. Patsy opened the door and it was Jason. She said, “Jason, what are you doing here?” He replied, “I’ve quit school!” She asked, ...read more

  • Sermon # 46 - What God Desires Series

Contributed by Andrew Dixon on Feb 5, 2025

Jonah failed to understand the compassionate and merciful nature of God. We as a church must know the heart of God and be actively involved in sharing the good news of the gospel and inviting those outside to be part of God’s Kingdom.

We read in Jonah 4:8, “And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.” (KJV) As we observe the works of God they astound ...read more

Samuel Arimoro Main Text: 1 Samuel 21:1-9 "And the priest answered David and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women." – 1 Samuel 21:4 (KJV) Supporting ...read more

  • You Missed The Point

Contributed by Joseph Smith on Jun 23, 2003
    based on 10 ratings

Why do we scold fathers on Father’s Day, when it is often that their children simply miss hearing their counsel. The sons of Josiah ignored their grounding in God’s word and the support of the Temple and misunderstood the value of hard work.

The difference between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is that we honor our mothers but we scold our fathers. We talk of saintly moms, who wore their fingers to the bone to cook and clean and sow for us. We honor them for their industry, their mother wit, and their prayer life. And that is as it ...read more

You don’t find this kind of closeness and support in every church today -- but in the early church, everyone was serious about doing life together, no matter what. How can we develop that in our church? *HANDOUT INCLUDED*

*NOTE: I am indebted to Rick Warren for the outline containing the "Fortify Your Faith" , etc. in this sermon. Please see "The Purpose Driven Church" (Zondervan, 1995) for more info. • The One Constant Series

Contributed by Jake Kircher on Sep 27, 2007
    based on 1 rating

Too often in life, we are looking to so many things to be constant in our lives and support us. Money, family, friends, jobs, etc. The fact is, all of those things will fail us, only God remains.

Tonight, I wanted to start off our time together by talking about being let down. This is something that has really been on my mind the last week as I have been experiencing a big let down personally. A few months ago, I thought everything was all taken care of and it would be a breeze the rest of ...read more

  • What Would Jesus Say To Harry Potter? Series

Contributed by Greg Hanson on Apr 16, 2007
    based on 13 ratings

This is, I believe, a balanced look at the Harry Potter phenomenon, acknowledging that Christians have supported and opposed it. But beyond that, this message looks at what Jesus might have to say to Harry, if Harry were a real person.

[Preached in November 2002. Stats can probably be updated at Wikipedia.com] Harry Potter. Since the release of the first book about him by J. K. Rowling in 1997, Harry Potter has captivated the minds and imaginations of children around the world. But not just children. Parents, college students, ...read more
