Jonah was a prophet of God sent with a prophetic word for the people of Nineveh. In today’s context, ‘How can we discern who is a true prophet of God and who are false?’ God’s word gives us clear instructions on how to test and treat prophecies.

Jonah freely accepted God’s mercy but wanted God’s judgement to be given the people of Nineveh. God’s word reminds us that it is not our prerogative to judge others, but rather to be merciful to them, just as God is merciful to us.

Builders Of The Temple

We read of Zerubbabel being the master carpenter over the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. He did physically build a temple, however, the scripture alludes to one being named, ‘The Branch’, to build the temple, and, ‘they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord.’

God tells us He will protect, guide and keep watch over us for His eternal purpose. In our scripture this morning, we will witness this Spiritual behavior.
