What is the secret to prayer?
Lord, Teach Us to Pray Luke 11:1-13 The Christian life is to be one of prayer. And as much as we know this, we seem to have so much trouble praying. The question presented to Jesus is one we all ask. We stumble around and try to pray. We go through a list of names of people to pray for and ...read more

In his final word, Jesus teaches us how to die well. He points us to an intimate relationship with a Heavenly Father, to a life that continues after death, and to a completion of all that God has for us in this life.
Dying Well Seven Last Words from the Cross Part 7 * Luke 23:44-46 “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” Today we tackle an unusual topic for an Easter Sunday. Usually we talk about life and life everlasting. We’ll get there, but first, let’s consider where that life comes from: death on a ...read more

Blessings from Above Ephesians 1:3-14 Today we launch a new series through a tiny book of the Bible called “Ephesians.” The Apostle Paul wrote this six-chapter letter to the church in Ephesus while he was imprisoned in Rome. Most scholars believe it was meant to be a form letter, something that ...read more

Before we teach from the bible, we should know why we have the English Versions we study.
We are doing a Message Series on the Word of God with the Word of God. Our key passage for this Message Series is 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Open your Bibles to 2 Timothy 3. Timothy was warned that in the last days, there will be evil activities in society; Take a look again at 2 timothy 3:1-5…. We today ...read more

The vast majority of people do not "accept" Christ (Luke 4:24) but refuse the "favor" (grace) He offers (v. 19). God has sent Christ to offer His grace. We must embrace the grace offered in Christ. Luke shows us how.
There’s a key word in this passage that I would like to point out. It is not obvious in the English, so it’s a bit tricky. But the word ‘favor’ in verse 19 and the word ‘acceptable’ in verse 24 render the same Greek word, which is dektos. In fact, in the King James Version it is translated ...read more

The Epistle of Jude is the penultimate [next to last] book of the New Testament and the Christian Bible. It is traditionally attributed to Jude the Apostle, brother of James the Just, and thus possibly the brother of Jesus.
Jude Jude The author of the biblical book of Jude was probably the brother of James (not one of Jesus' twelve disciples). Alternatively, it could be that Jude was just an assumed name. The Christian is one who recognizes person-hood to be the supreme value. The highest title or name of God is not king, master, or creator, but Father. Wordsworth said, “Father! To God Himself we cannot give a holier name.”
