Jesus brings down the dividing walls of prejudice. As believers brought into the family of God, what unites us is greater than what divides us. We belong to something much greater than ourselves. And we glorify God through our unity.

Maybe the reason we love our sin more than we love our God is that we don’t really understand how much our God loves us! Paul describes God's love as wide, long, high, and deep. Each of these words will help us grasp more of God's love for us.

The Lord through Paul calls us to get along, even when it's hard. He says to be humble, gentle, patient, and forbearing with our fellow believers. And through our efforts to do so, God will be glorified in the world. We pursue unity because God is one.

God wants us to live deliberately and to yield all control to God. Anything else is a cheap substitute. Nothing else fulfills us. When we are "high on God" (filled with the Spirit), all kinds of special things happen.

All Christian believers are to submit to one another. When wives voluntarily submit and husbands lovingly and sacrificially lead, we are reminded of Christ's special relationship with his church.

The spiritual world is real. Evil battles good. We need to go into battle only in God's power. And Paul uses armor to describe entering into fervent prayer.
