What it means when we say God is a “jealous” God. He won’t let us change religion to suit our own passions and political desires. He loves us too much to permit that.

Setting Up Idols In Bethel

First, Jeroboam built two idols and placed them in Bethel and Dan. Bethel means House of God and Dan means He judged. In the House of God, Jeroboam erected an idol—the golden calf. Jeroboam setup up a new altar to offer sacrifices before the golden calf.

Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people, “Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. In Pursuit Of Portion

Our life's pursuits ultimately define us. King David was a man after God's own heart. King Solomon ultimately pursued other things. Being in pursuit of God as your portion will lead you into the fullness of His goodness today as well as for an eternity.

King David said, “??O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; ??You maintain my lot.” Psalm 16:5 The word for portion in Hebrew is manâ (Strong’s H4490), and it is translated as part or portion.
