DO WE PRACTICE REAL LOVE?

Or are we seeking profits?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr.

TEXT:

PROVERBS 10:12 HATRED STIRS UP STRIVES;

BUT LOVE COVERS ALL SINS.

John 13:34 A new commandment I GIVE:

THAT YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

John 4:8 He that loves not;

knows not God, for God is love.

Gen. 29:20 Said Jacob worked all these years (14) for his love Rachel, and it seemed unto him as a few days....

Lev. 19:18 Love your neighbor as thyself...

Deut. 6:5-7...You should love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, and with ALL your Might...

LOVE NEVER FAILS!!!!!

Today I ponder: WHAT IS REAL LOVE?

I had a man tell me, he only believed in what he could see?

I asked if he was sure.

Of course, he said.

I said have you ever seen love?

He said, yes.

I said, what did it love like?

No one has ever seen love,

but we can see the effects of love around the world.

We have a duty to instill love for others

and in others.

Are we dripping love?

Where are we dripping love?

THEY DO NOT LOVE, THAT DO NOT SHOW THEIR LOVE!

Love shows and cannot be hid.

Can you imagine how much Jacob loved Rachel?

He worked for her 7 years, and did not get her.

He worked another seven years, the love was so precious.

Gen. 29:20 Said Jacob worked all these years and it seemed

unto him as a few days....

Wow ,what love will do.

Is there waiting love today?

The person that needs your love the most, probably deserves it the least?

Do I practice real love on a daily basis?

Read 1 Cor. 13.

Do I really love?

Do people look at you and say:

See how these Christians love?

Can love and fear co-exist?

What do you see when you see people?

What do they see when they see you?

WHAT YOU LOVE YOU WILL FIND TIME FOR....

If you hurt today, will someone invest the love to get you beyond the storm? That is not the question.

The question is: Can you see someone is hurting, and how can you invest love in them to help them grow and overcome?

Someone needs your phone call?

Someone needs the little note you could write?

Someone is lonely and needs your visit?

Some child feels that no one loves them?

The person that needs your love the most, probably deserves it the least?

Who shall I love?

Love your enemies, are you kidding?

Some preacher’s hands are hanging low, all he needs is someone to give him an encouraging word?

Today, you could read this and then reach out and invest love?

Or you could play another game?

The other day I invited a man to church. He had a good excuse .....

He said, "I would go to church, but the are hypocrites there."

I personally agreed that there are hypocrites at church.

As long as real people attend anything, there will be problems.

But, I told him, I was amazed, I saw hypocrites at Walmart and

Super America?

He goes to those places with hypocrites ...

WHY CAN’T YOU GO TO CHURCH WITH THEM?

He spent time in bars, and you talk about hypocrites?

I could not change his mind, but I left him with the thought ...

he would spend eternity with hypocrites, so he should get use to them.

He agreed that: … if it were his last Sunday he may come.

Besides that, I think at times we are all hypocritical to some degree.

I have some friends that are good people.

They love their church, they give good.

They sell expensive dishes and houseware.

They use the church as a way of setting up parties

to sell their product.

They make big money.

They sell the product for a great profit, and many young people have gone into debt to buy their goodies.

Then the young people can’t afford the payments.

By using the church they sell 300K a year.

Once they work a church, when there are no more parties,no more sells, they leave that church and court another pastor.

I do not question the product, but I do seriously question the motive for giving and attending churches.

I heard them train some others, they told them, use the church, that is the greatest way to promote sells.

I do not suggest this is a sin, but I do ponder the motive for attendance?

Should we use the church?

I think not.

How is the best way to get even with an enemy?

Feed him.

Love him and make him your friend.

The person that needs your love the most, probably deserves it the least?

We must see beyond faults and weaknesses.
