1. Be Thou My Vision
Contributed on Jan 4, 2025
In the Bible, people often fasted when they were serious about getting direction (or a vision) from God. Who fasted in the Bible, and why should we?
"Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it; Plan more than you can do, then do it; Point your arrow at a star, take your aim, and there you are; Arrange more time than you can spare, then spare it; Take on more than you can bear, then bear it; Plan your castle in the air, then build a ship ...read more

2. The Power Of The Holy Spirit
Contributed on Jan 11, 2025
Why did Jesus believe the early church needed the power of the Holy Spirit - and what can that power mean to us today?
A few years ago, the power went out on the north side of town. I first noticed it when I saw that the traffic lights weren’t working but I didn’t think much about it until I tried to stop into CVS to pick up some batteries. 3. Heavenly Minded
Contributed on Jan 16, 2025
Why would the angels prompt the followers of Jesus to stop watching the sky for Jesus? Was it wrong for them to want Jesus to return? Or is there something else we need to see here?

ILLUS: In 1823, there was a Baptist minister by the name of William ...read more

Contributed on Jan 24, 2025
During the days after the Civil War up thru the 1960s, there were many "Christians" in the U.S. who embraced bigotry and mistreated the black people around them. Why would supposed Christians do that, and how do we protect ourselves from that kind of evil?
Martin Luther King Jr. Day was last Monday (1/20/25). He once said: “The time is always right to do what is right.” Today, our sermon is going to be on racism, not because I think any of us are racist - but because, as Christians, we need to know what the Bible says about it. Martin Luther ...read more

5. What Shall We Do?
Contributed on Jan 31, 2025
What was it about what Peter preached on Pentecost that cut his audience to the heart and prompted them to ask "What shall we do?" And what can we learn from what he said that can help us be more effective about sharing our faith?
We just read a sermon by the Apostle Peter - a sermon he preached on the day of Pentecost - and it was so powerful that about 3000 people responded by asking: WHAT SHALL WE DO? And then they repented of their sin and were baptized into Christ. Their future was changed because of what Peter said. ...read more
