"According to the Rabbis, the Books of Numbers and Deuteronomy are complementary to each other (comp. Tithe, Biblical Data); consequently there can be no contradiction between them. Thus there were three kinds of tithes: (1) that given to the Levites as stated in Num. xviii. 21 et seq., and termed

SOMEONE YOU KNOW
A gray haired lady, long a member of her community and Church, shook hands with the minister after the service one morning. "That was a wonderful sermon, she told him, just wonderful. Everything you said applied to someone I know."
What is often missed is that God’s word

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
Have you ever been given instructions on how to do something, but you were pretty sure that you could figure it out, so you threw out the instructions? I did that one time with a brand new entertainment center. I had put all kinds of furniture together before and I just

Children can be embarrassingly frank. I read of a minister who was visiting one of his members. The lady of the house was trying to impress him about how devout she was by pointing out the large Bible on the bookshelf and talking in a very reverential way of it as "the Word of God". Her young

TRAIN WRECK
Some years ago, a fearful railroad wreck took a dreadful toll of life and limb in an eastern state. A train, loaded with young people returned from school, was stalled on a suburban track because of what is known as a "hot-box." Another limited train was soon due, but a flagman was
