About Robert
  • Education: Hope to have an AA in Divinity by December 2008 and then a BA in Ministry by December 2009.
  • Experience: I was saved in 1998 and I did not grow up in Church. I have alot to learn. I have been blessed to be able to preach on many occasions. I have spent most of my Ministry thus far working with Youth and that has been very rewarding. I was called to be Pastor of Center Ridge Baptist Church on April 6th, 2008.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I hope they are a blessing to you. They are not here as an example of what to do. If you would give me some (real) feedback I would be grateful.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: A saying made a difference. A speaker at the Baptist College of Florida asked a common question to us in the pews. He asked "What does it mean to repent?" I heard seveal students and professors give the common answer to turn away. The speaker then said "That’s right to turn towards God." Wow how much that meant to me. To turn away is scary you don’t know where you are headed. To turn to God, now that is awesome.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: All of my favorite illustrations are to long to put in this box!
  • Family: I am married to my wonderful wife Meredith. We were married December 29, 2007. She had a BS degree in Education from Jacksonville Christian College and she teaches a a Christian school in Dothan, Al.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are nothing but encouragement. According to my dad I may be the best preacher ever. lol
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I do try and get feedback from my wife. She says I look a little nervous sometimes and I apologize to much, but she enjoys them.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Don’t try to explain yourself when making a point that you feel God has given you. In other words don’t ever apologize for the point your about to make. Advice given by my wife.
  • Books that have had an impact: Knowing God by J.I. Packer What an awesome book- "adoption through propitiation" 90 Minutes In Heaven- another awesome book! It really shows the power of prayer.
  • Hobbies: Spending my extra time with my new wife.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: I keep trying to think of something, but the Holy Spirit does not seem to want to give me a message for an event that has not taken place yet.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: This is not funny but it is different. I was preaching a few weeks ago when a woman got up and started out. She had flip flops on and she tripped over them and fell down hard on her face. It was bad we had to call an ambulance. I felt so sorry for her. When I first walked up she said you guys please go on with the service I’m going to take a nap here.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Sorry you missed me I’m in my mansion!
